You see Her
dressed in rags,
Lost amidst Chaos,
Struggling against
The System
Her ancient Beauty
Crumbling
A cross between
Culture and
Colonialism.
What She was and
what She seems to be.
A conflict.
A sense of betrayal?

But I see Her
Glowing skin,
flawless
hidden behind
the rags.
A pulsating force
of Life
behind her facade
of chaos and complacency.
Waiting.
Watching.
Writhing.
I look beyond
the rags,
and see that
Her Charm
lies amongst Her ruins
What She was and
What She still is
The strains of Her sitar
Wafting through the evening
As they were
As they are
As they always will be.
Some things don't change
They just seem to
Do not be fooled
By Her apparent
Poverty,Misery,Apathy
For She who
professes that the
world is illusory
is the reigning
Queen of Illusion
Teasing,Dancing,Flirting
you think you
have Her all figured out
but you don't
and nor do I
She may throw back
Her veil
and stand before
the world
in all Her glory


or She may not.
For She needs to prove
