My Wish List So based on the previous post, here's what I would have liked to be able to get:

1. $200 Vouchers for facials and massages at Spa Esprit - they have the best facials ever! Visit them at Spa Esprit
2. $100 vouchers for Borders
3. $200 vouchers for Next Hair Dressers (they have recently revamped and there's this one guy there who gives to-die-for massages when he washes your hair...you will really feel like you've died and gone to heaven)
4. $400 vouchers for Dorothy Perkins or Guess
5.vouchers for Victoria's Secrets (First open a VS store in this godforsaken country!)
5. Hush Puppies vouchers are fine....just up them to $100 at least!
6. Food: vouchers to hmmmm...i can't think where right now...

Gotta stop now...it's time to leave the office...but there are tonnes more things I would love to have so I shall continue tomorrow!!!

  To The Wish Fairy...If she exists... I just spent a whole day trying to choose gifts for myself.

Easy peasy, you would think...something to look forward to, to finish in 2 minutes and then sit back and bask in a glorious sense of satisfaction?

NOT TRUE!!

I've just spent pretty much all day agonizing over what to choose.

Ok. Here's what happened.

Harish told me, the other day, that he had amassed quite a few Red Reward points (it's a shucks..i learnt this in advertising class...reward system? redemption system? frequent flyer system? I hate it when I can't remember the word and it's there at the tip of your tongue but it won't bloody come out! Anyway you get the idea of what it is!)
So he gives me all these points, the website URL and tells me that I can choose whatever I like...

I was overjoyed, till the search began!

So I found this dream spa retreat package which, for 15-odd thousand points (he had 19 odd thousand points) would allow me to indulge myself in all these heavenly sounding things like a 50 min aroma body massage, a facial pulse point something and a tension something (which suspiciously sounded like it was a tension-creating package..but I highly doubt that..it was just the wording - i hope.) All these lovely things plus a half-day stay at the Marriott Singapore. (Oh these spa thingies were also at the Marriot) So anyway, I jumped at this one and added it to the basket.

Then I thought about and figured that it would be godawful boring to go for these alone! So I deleted it from my basket. Then I convinced myself that alone-time was what I needed, so I went right back and re-added it.
Then I had a lunchtime chat about it with my colleague and we figured that I would definitely feel bad about it since my mom's in town and she'd have to stay at home while I'm busy pampering myself downtown.

So then I'm right back at Square One. I have to choose stuff or the points will expire tomorrow and then I would have wasted the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to choose vouchers for myself!

So I went back and looked at everything. This time I was agonizing over the Miracle Eau De Parfum by Lancome or the Crystal wine glass set with a charming wooden stand and matching corkscrew.

And then it was that I glimpsed what I just knew I would HAVE to have: the $50 Hush Puppies voucher! Just the other day, I'd seen a pair of Hush Puppies that I loved for about $70. The opportunity to get it for $20 was way too good to miss!

So in went the Hush Puppies voucher which was 7 500 points. So I was left with 12 146 points...still quite a bit, you would think?

Yes good enough for a Lancome lipstick set which came with a schoolgirlish candy pink lipstick, that against my skintone, would just make me look bad. Candy pink against brown skin would be a fashion disaster of one of the most unforgiving kinds! So that's out. The Lancome skin care kit sounded ideal except that it came in a trial size which sounds alright still but I have this thing against actually buying samples!
So that was out. Then there were the food vouchers which were for restaurants that weren't really on my favourites list and which were worth only $20 anyway and in those restaurants, you'd probably get an appetizer for $20..Really not worth it!
Then there were the hotel stay - in different countries! And who's going to pay for my plane ticket!?

So then I was left with the bookstore vouchers, nail salon vouchers, movie ticket passes and so on so forth. yawn.
So not exciting. Ideally I would have wanted the perfume, the the wine glass set AND the hush puppies voucher.
sigh. life is So unfair.

So anyway here's what I settled for:
2 $20 vouchers for Times the Bookshop (yaaay boooks!)
a $30 voucher for Hollywood Secrets (might as well get a manicure/pedicure)
and my $50 Hush Puppies voucher!!!!

So I guess I should be happy about the shoes. And I am.

But I also wanted the Spa and the perfume.

I guess we really are never content with what we get. Even when it's free and totally unexpected. And not even through our own points.
