Why Anaamika?
I was just looking at my website and was thinking that some of you might not know why it's called Anaamika. There's actually a long story to that, but suffice it to say that Anaamika means The Nameless One in Sanskrit.
It is a name I used for the character of a short story that I wrote some years back. The character was representative of women; particularly the women in India who are victims of dowry deaths. Anaamika was representative of the nameless, faceless masses of women who are killed as a result of dowry disputes in India, a country in which dowry is illegal.
Stomach rumbles and tumbles
How strange....the last post I published actually came out on the website as the 2nd last one! How weird is that?
Anyway, I'm just recovering from an acute attack of stomach flu!
It was tiring - Sunday morning saw me throwing my guts out and let me tell you, it wasn't a pretty sight!
It's amazing when you think about our insides and how even the prettiest/hunkiest of us actually look quite gross on the inside! Yes my darling sister brought up this salient point when I spoke to her last and yes, it's true, but I don't think it's a surefire way to cure jealousy!! I mean when you look at someone you think is beautiful, and you think...hmmmm she actually looks like shit on the inside, my mind would then say...yeah but we all look like shit on the inside and can't help it, at least she looks superb on the outside..so yeah, I don't think thoughts like that would really help....
anyway I think I'm rambling..must be after-effects of the stomach flu! I think I'll stop now and continue another day!
Hope you have a great weekend!
