Dilemma I don't know what to do. I've already been accepted in Massey University's Sociology programme, and University of Auckland's Sociology programme. At this point, since I've gotten into these two, I'm reasonably sure that Uni of Waikato wants me too - or rather doesn't have any violent objections to me studying on their campus.
And now I don't know which one to choose. I like all three programmes, butI think I might like Massey's course structure and minor options a bit more than what the other two have to offer.
But on the flip side, Uni of Auckland is supposedly world-famous. In narrow-minded Singapore alone, it's considered to be in Tier One (according to the National Uni of Singapore) and to Singapore's credit, their snobbery does mean that they distinguish the best from the rest.

Or so I thought till a friend pointed out that what the Singapore uni deems to be the best may only hold water within Singapore or even within the Uni. It may not necessarily reflect the sentiments of the larger world.

But then again, everyone I've spoken to, quite uniformally, has heard of Uni of Auckland. And noone seems to have heard of Massey : - (
Well a few have and they don't seem to have anything to say in Massey's disfavour. But it seems to be the general sentiment that Uni of Auckland's better.

and then of course, there's the "culture shock" consideration. If I go to Massey's Palmerston North campus (which is the one I've been allocated - Massey Uni has 3 campuses in Palmerston North, Albany, Auckland and Wellington, the capital city. Palmerston North is located entirely on a hill, close to Wellington)
So as I was saying, if I go to the Palmerston North campus, I have to be prepared for a University town, full of students, not much of the city life that I've been used to all my life. I'm quite sure that I could adapt to that sort of a lifestyle - after all, I've chosen NZ for the precise reason that NZ has more sheep than ppl and that's what I feel I need. No offense to people of course...
So do I choose the quiter, more scenic, slow-paced PN (short for Palmerston North of course. Hey, I've lived in the Land of Abbreviations all my life!) or should I choose the faster-paced, cosmopolitan, bustling city of Auckland which will anyway be more laid-back than Singapore?

How I detest them. I wish someone would just decide for me already!

That's not quite true,though. If someone just decided on my behalf and told me that I would be going to XX Uni, I would be super duper pissed off and rant and rave about equality - equal opportunity, my right as a thinking individual to make my own choices and decisions and live by them and how i'm being discriminated against because I'm female, young etc and how you are sexist/ageist/racist etc etc

Gosh...sometimes I think....I must be a rather tiresome person to be with. Maybe I should tone down on my principles and values. But then how do you compromise something you believe in because you think it affects our personality?

Ok I'm rambling. It's ok, I understand why you'd rather I stopped here. It's alright, I'm not offended, I'll shut up : - (
