Last Sunday
Ok i've been meaning to blog about last sunday for ages now (since last Sunday as a matter of fact...) simply because I had SO MUCH FUN!
So here's what happened. I woke up in the morning, all ready to head off to the flea market as we (the housemates and I) had decided to do the previous nite. So we all walked around,bleary-eyed for a bit and then got into various stages of dress (or undress as the weather requires) and walked down to the flea market nearby. I was pretty excited coz I'd never been to a produce market before - I'd heard about such things from friends in different parts of the world, where people gather and sell their produce etc, but I'd never actually been to one. In Singapore, flea markets are places where people set up stalls and sell stuff. stuff like 2ndhand clothes, hand-made jewellery, books, trinkets and just general knick-knacks. I used to love them. absolutely adore them coz u never know what you were gonna find.
So anyway, we walked around the flea market, checked out what we needed, I bought a ball (it looks like a silver football but it's actually just a bouncy rubber ball...I mean we needed one to play with in the house!!!) for like 2 bucks!!! And then we bought vegetables, fruits and stuff like that that we needed for the week - and a punnet of sweet, red strawberries!
Got back home, kicked the ball around for quite a while in the garden with the boys, and then we did some communal cooking - made brunch for all of us, and tucked in in front of the tv. Then we took the ball, got out the sunscreen and headed off to Victoria Esplanade where we created havoc in the rose garden where we forgot ourselves and played a rough game of football - girls vs guys - and then decided that the black looks we were getting were becoz we were ruining the peace of the beautiful gardens. The roses really were beautiful and they smelt heavenly. I'd really like to know who named them, tho, coz they had the most unromantic names! I can't remember what they are now, but I played a little game and renamed each rose that I liked in my head - and i must say, they sounded a lot more romantic then...
So we left the rose gardens and went on to the playground where we played more ball, tried to get into the hamster wheel which is my all-time fav, bounced up and down on the sea-saw and waited for a pudgy little tyke to get off the trampoline (but she just went on and on - much like the energiser bunny. she was so cute that i didn't have the heart to intimidate her and get her off!) just as we were having fun on the sea-saw, we heard the lilting sounds of bagpipes! Off we jumped and went in search of the bagpipers. We found a marching band rehearsing in a little clearing and sat down to watch them. We had to leave soon, tho, coz the housemates had plans and were going to be late!
On the way back home, we stopped off at the BP station and got ourselves some ice-cream. Triple Chocolate fudge. YUM!
And then it was time to relax at home, in the garden with an ice-cold drink and welcome the evening...
to be cont'd....gotta go for a jog now!!
